Work Package number 1: COORDINATION

Leader: Organización Nacional de Trasplantes (ONT), Spain

The aim of work package (WP) 1 is to manage and coordinate the project and make sure that it is implemented as planned, managed according to the European Commission rules and procedures, and funded through a correct distribution, execution and justification.

The coordination role, assumed by the project leader, is intended to:

  • Coordinate the project transversally and vertically by:
    • leading the design of the WPs and agreeing their content with the corresponding WP leaders;
    • supervising vertically the work carried out in each WP, assuring that the expected deadlines are met and the deliverables produced;
    • assuring permanent exchange of information on WP progress;
    • monitoring transversally the compliance of each partner, assessing whether the activities are balanced or not, and in this last case, avoiding to jeopardize the performance of the partners in the other WPs.
  • Guarantee quality working procedures, oriented to results and aims, transparent and balanced within the transnational consortium by:
    • designing a General Working Plan for the Joint Action (JA) and coordinating specific working plans within each WP;
    • assuring a permanent and transparent communication within the transnational consortium, and dynamizing the JA implementation motivating all partner organisations for guaranteeing a balanced participation, avoiding any inactivity during specific periods of the JA life.
  • Project working bodies:
    • Director: ONT director will have overall responsibility for the whole JA, will supervise all the activities performed, will steer the coordination unit and will convene and chair the meetings.
    • Coordination Unit: Constituted by ONT staff, the coordination unit will monitor the progress of the JA transversally and vertically, will establish communication with the WP steering committee on a regular basis and will report to the Director of the JA.
    • Project Committee: Constituted by all associated partners involved in the consortium, it represents the main decision-making body of the project.
    • WPs Steering Committee: Composed of the members of the coordination unit and the leaders of the WPs, it will represent an operational body for collective decision making and reporting on the execution of the project.

A Consortium Agreement including all the commitments in terms of, among others, technical and financial aspects, as well as communication procedures will be signed by all associated partners. A Manual for the financial and administrative management of the JA will be developed, where the different reporting periods will be defined, along with management rules and procedures.

A web based platform will be created for facilitating internal communication among the partners and for dissemination purposes.
