Work package number 3: EVALUATION

Leader: Organización Nacional de Trasplantes (ONT), Spain

The aim of this Work Package (WP) is to assure and verify that the Joint Action (JA) is implemented as planned and that it accomplishes the objectives defined. This WP also intends to assure that the produced knowledge and outcomes meet high quality standards, are visible and have a relevant impact.

The project evaluation will be based on three different components:

  • Monitoring and continuous (process) evaluation. A system for the collection of information on the developed activities and a system on monitoring indicators with associated sources and means of verification will be created. Two annual reports on the project progress, including information on the accomplishment of the project Working Plan and on any detected deviation will be produced, with proposals for improvements implementation.
  • A final external evaluation will be carried out during the final phase of the JA. This evaluation will analyse the development and results of the JA, focussed on its impact and sustainability, and will elaborate conclusions and suggest recommendations to help improving future procedures and/or JAs. The Final External Evaluation will be designed and implemented by an external and independent agent, with a high level of expertise on European project evaluations, at the end of the ACCORD JA.
  • An External Advisory Board (EAB) will be convened, composed by experts and well-known professionals in the field of organ donation and transplantation. The aim of the EAB is to assure and improve the quality and impact of the JA results and outcomes. To that end, the EAB will participate at the general meetings, review the main deliverables of the project and elaborate a final report on the quality and impact of the JA results.
